In this fast-paced world, it is difficult for many people to be able to spend their time preparing an elaborate meal. For this reason, they are compelled to require convenience foods with a view to finishing their meal in a hurry. And for that, fast foods are supposed to overtake traditional foods accompanied by techniques of the process. From my perspective, I assume that fast foods can never be a substitute for traditional foods.

First and foremost, it is undeniable that using convenience foods is not as healthy as making own meals along with fresh ingredients. Fast foods are understood to stand for processed foods with common additives like colorants or preservatives, which are chemical substances considered harmful for health in the long run. For instance, according to many prestigious studies, if people usually use fast foods, they will have a high risk of developing health concerns such as heart attack, diabetes, depression, etc. Conversely, homemade meals mean that you are conscious of what exactly ingredients are going into meals; and so you can get a better understanding of what you eat.

Secondly, it is traditional foods that contribute to making a distinguishing feature of cuisine in each country, not convenience foods because they are mass-produced and can be easily seen on any store shelves. This also makes traditional foods unique in a way that convenience foods frankly can not compare.

In summary, based on the above-mentioned contentions, convenience foods should be regarded as extra ones when there is no choice but to have to resort to them, not as the thing that can replace traditional foods.
