It is undeniable that people feel the way employees dress to work does not really matter and that employers should focus more on the content of their work. While I agree that the way people dress should be seen as irrelevant in many work contexts, I believe that dress codes still exist for good reason in certain professions.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why the quality of work is irrelevant to the way people choose to dress in many work contexts. Nowadays, many developed companies allow their employees to dress casually when working because they want to create a relaxed office environment where their employees feel comfortable and free. Thanks to this, employees working in these companies would produce work of outstanding quality which employers are expecting from them. As a result, wearing casually help employees not only work effectively but also raise their work productivity.

On the other hand, it is understandable that dress codes still exist for some good reasons in certain professions. Dress codes are a means of identifying the person's position and role in society. To be specific, some certain jobs such as teachers, polices, layers, and airline pilots require employees to wear uniforms. For example, a politician always wears formal clothing to become powerful and severe and show their necessary role in society when standing in front of inhabitants. It is no doubt that people prefer to see these professionals in smart and formal attire instead of casual clothing.

In conclusion, while the quality of work is more important than the way the employees dress, I believe that dress codes have an influence on some professions.

Whether managers should mind about how their staff dress or not has caused a hot debate. In my opinion, they should care about that because it has a big impact on their customers as well as the image of their company.
On the one hand, what the employees wear to work is really important to their company, especially in service and food areas. Most customers or partners usually judge the company by the staff who they work with. It is obvious that the clothes people wear can reflect many things. Therefore, the way their employees dress has a big impact on the company’s success. Moreover, it also affects the quality of their work. For example, employers must ensure their workers wear gloves, uniforms when working in food factories. Otherwise, the food they produce may be not hygienic and safe for their customers to eat.
On the other hand, if managers do not care about the way their staff dresses, they will wear whatever they want such as shorts, skirts and so on. Because they do not need to follow any dress codes, they choose any clothes that they like. Consequently, no one wants to wear formal clothes or uniforms. This will destroy the image of the company. Moreover, for some jobs such as electronics engineering, uniforms are very important because they help protect the staff from dangerous situations. if they do not wear their uniforms properly, their lives may be put at risk.
To sum up, employers should care about the way their employees dress, besides the quality of work because it is vital to the success of a company and the safety of their employees in some cases.

Some people think employers should not care about the way their employees dress, but the quality at work. I think it depends on type of job.
On the one hand, there are many companies don't require their workers to have dress code anymore. Now not all jobs need employees to wear uniform or formal clothes. For example, the artists don't always need to wear beautiful clothes because they need to work with the colour so they can work with casual clothes which help them more comfortable and get a high quality of work.
On the other hand, there are some occupations that workers must wear in a formal way. For example, the model needs to wear beautiful, incredible, formal clothes to take photos to advertise for many different brands. For instance, receptionists always have to dress in an elegant way to create a great impression to the guests.
In conclusion, although I believe that the way a person suit cannot affect his nature of work, in some specific jobs, employees should have a dress code to get the best of their jobs.

Some people think that employees should be allowed to dress freely as long as they can deliver their daily quota of work. From my perspective, I am not in accord with this opinion by virtue of several points.



To commence with, dress code at the workplace should be respected and adhered to in order to insulate the corporation’s image. It is a tenet of modern marketing that every touchpoint between the customers and the company forms prospective clients’ perception of the organization. Therefore, every member of the organization is a representative of it, especially in the case of customer-facing jobs such as salesmen, customer service officers, etc. For example, Techcombank has their customer service representatives dress in uniform with its logo and its signature red color to position the company as “professional and innovative” in customers’ minds. Moreover, clothing regulations help to reinforce and enhance the culture of professionalism at workplaces. Office clothes empower employees with confidence and effectively avoid incidents of inappropriate clothing for work such as overly short dresses or extravagant accessories.



To expand the discussion of this topic, it is also noteworthy that employees’ self-expression via their personal style should also be encouraged because how we dress instills in ourselves a sense of freedom and individualism, which boosts self-esteem and productivity. Hence, to reconcile between corporate marketing positioning and its employees’ personal identity, employees should be granted 1 or 2 working days whereby dressing is at their discretion with the proviso that their clothes are suitable with the work environment.



In conclusion, I think the corporate dress code must be obligated because it plays an important role in establishing the corporation’s image and culture in the eyes of both customers and employees. But to a certain extent, room for personalism and discretion should also be allowed with respect to employees’ need for self-expression.
